About the Event

The Millkweed Plant is the perfect plant for butterfly enthusiasts who want to attract Monarch butterflies. When the female Butterfly discovers the milkweed, she lays her eggs on the plant. Once the eggs hatch, the small caterpillars eat the leaves of the milkweed plant and begin to molt. Repeating this process again and again, until the caterpillar forms its new home, a Chrysalis. They complete their entire life cycle on or near the milkweed plant and turn into a beautiful butterfly.

Significant declines of the population of the Monarch Butterflies have been documented across the country, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has listed the species as endangered. Help us to spread awareness of this decline as butterflies are one of our greatest pollinators! By planting more Milkweed Plants, we are providing a host for female butterflies to lay their eggs, which help the species to continue expanding in their growth.

This is a wonderful workshop for families to learn and create together. To learn the life cycle of a seed, and the life cycle of a monarch butterfly - a great tool to incorporate into your homeschooling days! In this workshop you will be provided with a planter pot, organic soil, milkweed seeds, and knowledge on the importance of increasing the likelyhood of the monarch species to stay in existence.

Price of Workshop: $20 Includes all materials to plant milkweed from seed. Payments Accepted: Cash, Venmo., Zelle Please let us know that you plan on stopping in for this workshop, by selecting "going" on the event link - or you can send us a message!

We look forward to planting with y'all!
