About the Event
Join us in the studio to create a bee hotel for the mason bees, which are one of our greatest pollinators!
We will be using recycled materials such as paper straws, newspapers, card board, sticks and such to create the perfect bee hotel for the Mason bees to lay their eggs inside.
Mason bees are beautiful, gentle native bees that are excellent pollinators. Mason bees do not produce honey - they collect pollen, whereas honeybees collect nectar.
Mason bees are named for their habitat of using mud or other 'masonry" products in constructing their nests, which are made in naturally occurring gaps such as between cracks in stones, or in other small dark cavities. This is the perfect addition to your homeschooling and teaching our children the importance of pollinators, and how we can help to keep the mason bee species in existence! This is a great workshop for families to create and learn together.
Price of Workshop: $20 Includes all materials to make one mason bee hotel. Families can work on one together too! Payments Accepted: Cash, Venmo, Zelle
