A Stop Motion

We have a fun course beginning May 7th, 2024.

This is a 4 week course, where the students

will learn the in's and out's of creating a

stop-motion film using Legos.

Together, we will create a storyline, hand build the scene and  build out the background

to create a one of a kind video film!

We have a dynamic set up, which includes a

digital camera for capturing each scene,

lighting, stabilization props, and an editing

program that will put the video film together.

We are keeping the class small so that every

one will have their special place in creating

a hands on short, stop motion picture film.

Lego Stop Motion

What is Stop Motion Picture?

Stop motion animation (also called stop frame animation)

is animation that is captured one frame at time, with physical

objects that are moved between frames.

When you play back the sequence of images rapidly,

it creates the illusion of movement.

Stop motion with legos, simply put is the animation of legos to

create a short film, often referred to as brick films.

Stop motion brickfilms are made using stop motion animation

techniques, but some can take other forms of film production.

Stop-motion animation requires a lot of sculpting, rigging, lighting,

and positioning of each object or model by hand or with the help of tools. Individual pictures are taken of each movement, placement, and action.

Upon playback, the viewer perceives the series of slightly changing,

rapidly succeeding images as motion.
